Mrs. Isabelle G. Jennette of 653 Bayview Road, Bath, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in White Oak Chapel Disciples of Christ Church with the Rev. Kirk Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Jennette family cemetery.
Mrs. Jennette was born Nov. 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Matthew and Myrtle Rogers Gibbs. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to Charlie Jennette Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a board member of the Bath Rescue Squad. She was a member of White Oak Chapel Disciples of Christ Church, where she was a member of the choir and children’s ministry.
Survivors include three daughters, Maureen J. Hardy of Bath, Lyle J. Spencer of Raleigh and Shelvia Eberson of Washington; two sons, Russell Jennette of Hinesville, Ga., and Mardell Jennette of Washington; four sisters, Addie Fulcher, Maggie McBride and Annie Riddick of Bath, and Audrey Riddick of Pantego; two brothers, Frederick Gibbs of Germany and Samuel Gibbs of Greenville; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charlie Jennette Jr.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
