Ms. Ruth Hunnings Simpson, 83, of Grantsboro, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home &Cremations, Alliance, with the Rev. Charles Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Paul Cemetery, Silverhill.
Ms. Simpson was a member of Faith Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Perry of Lowland and Fred Simpson of New Bern; two daughters, Ellen Jones of Jones Island, S.C., and Tammy Stowe of Grantsboro; one brother, Alfred Hunnings of Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Alice Fuhr of Olympia; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Pamlico, P.O. Box 959, Bayboro, NC 28515.
