Ms. Sarah E. Wellington of 307 Mansfield Road, Washington, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, with the Rev. Glenda Lodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Burgess family cemetery.
Ms. Wellington was born Oct. 17, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Maebell Bowen Wellington. She attended the River Road School. She worked as a social worker for the state of Pennsylvania.
Survivors include two daughters, Larlie W. Mumford of Detroit, Mich., and Yvonne Langley of Washington; one son, James H. Wellington of Wilkenburg, Pa.; one brother, James Wellington of Washington; eight grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Wellington; one brother, Fred Wellington and one sister, Vida Wellington.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
