Ms. Mavis Denise Moore, 47, of 197 Nevil Creek Road, Blounts Creek, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Anna Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. David Moore Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Moore was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 17, 1961. She was the daughter of Willie R. Moore Sr. and the late Mulgray Johnson Moore. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was employed with Family Dollar Store in Washington, prior to declining health. She was a member of St. Anna Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Tamara Moore of the home; five sisters, Sandra Smith of Blounts Creek, Mary Moore and Dorothy Burns, both of Greensboro, Claudette Brown of Washington and Lottie L. Moore of New York; four brothers, Willie R. Moore Jr. and Anthony Moore of New York, Paul Moore of Washington and James Moore of Blounts Creek and three grandchildren.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
The family will receive friends at the home.
