Mrs. Ruth Hoggard Hill, 57, of 854 Bull Hill Road, Windsor, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Duke Hospital in Durham.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethel Assembly of God with the Revs. R.O. Denton Jr. and Cheryl Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Hoggard family cemetery.
Mrs. Hill was born in Bertie County on Oct. 12, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Hoggard Sr. and Athia Jernigan Hoggard. She was married to Frederick Martin Hill, who survives. She was a kindergarten teacher at Bethel Christian Academy. She was a Sunday school teacher and vacation Bible school leader at Askewville Assembly of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Maranda Hill of Ahoskie and Martina Hill Rigg of Seaboard; three brothers, George Hoggard and Emanuel Hoggard, both of Windsor, and Raymond Hoggard Jr. of Greenville and one sister, Mary Hoggard of Windsor.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Webb Hoggard.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
