Patrolling part of the outfield for the Washington Pam Pack this season will be an All-
American. Justin “Gator” Moore was tabbed an Under Armour Preseason All-American.
The junior recently took part in an All-American baseball tournament in Arizona. Moore was joined by some of the best prep baseball players in the country for the third annual tournament, held at the Kino Sports Complex, spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Moore said he would have liked to have done better as the plate, but he was happy with his performance in the field.
Moore, who played each outfield position in Arizona, credited his high school coach, Darin Vaughan, for helping him prepare for the tournament.
Moore, who received a pair of Under Armour batting gloves, cleats and a uniform while in Arizona, said he can benefit from playing in the prestigious tournament, which was attending by several Major League Baseball scouts.
Steve Phillips, an ESPN baseball analyst, was the keynote speaker at the tournament. Players also had the opportunity to speak with Kelly Kulina, Dan Mooney, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Bliss on college recruiting, scouting and player development.
Moore was happy he could share the experience with his family members.
