Mr. Louis Edward Marriner Sr., 59, of Roper, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church with pastor Allen Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Marriner was born in Washington County on Nov. 2, 1949. He was the son of the late Charles Morton Marriner and Marie Sitterson Marriner. He was an Army veteran with service in Pforzheim, Germany. He was married to Sandra Armstrong Marriner, who survives. He was a HVAC technician and electrician and began his career with Weyerhaeuser Corp. He was also employed with Triple “A” Electric and later worked with Armstrong Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of The American Legion. He was a member of Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Emily L. Marriner of Roper; one son, Louis E. Marriner Jr. of Coats; one sister, Nancy M. Anderson of Suffolk, Va.; one brother, Charles L. Marriner of Suffolk, Va.; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. “Bobby” Marriner.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth.
