Mr. James Earl Godard, 60, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcus Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Godard was born in Martin County on Dec. 11, 1948. He was the son of the late Plad Octavis Godard Sr. and Rosa Lee Clark. He attended the Martin County Schools. He was disabled. He was married to Sarah Tisdale Godard, who survives.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Clark of Greenville, Michelle Godard and Anytra Godard, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Shannon Godard of Richmond, Va.; one son, Melvin Godard of Washington; two brothers, Cecil Ray Godard of Washington and James Ray Godard of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Josephine Little and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Hannah Godard; two sons, Kelvin Godard and Troy Godard; two brothers, Plad Octavis Godard Jr. and Lovie Joe Lewis; and two sisters, Rosa Mae Rodgers and Linda Frank.
The family will receive friends at the home of his son, Melvin Godard, 514 Telfair St., Washington.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
