CLINTON — Mr. Robert Lee Emery, 69, of 1190 King Road, died Wednesday, April 1st, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Plainview Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Chubby Rieber and Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
Mr. Emery, a native of Beaufort County, was the son of the late Giles Andrew Emery, Sr. and Catherine Barton Emery. He was a member of Plainview Free Will Baptist Church, a former member of the Warsaw Fire Dept., and a former constable with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Department. He worked with National Spinning for 33 years and with Kivett’s for 12 years.
Survivors are his wife, Mary B. Emery of the home; two daughters, Tina Matthews and husband James of Warsaw, Teresa Quinn and husband Frank of Salem, VA; a son, Alan Murphy of Clinton; a sister, Vivian Elks; a brother, Giles “Buddy” Emery, Jr; six grandchildren, Heather Appel, Kimberly Louthan, Michael Carter, Haley Quinn, Dalton Murphy, and Davis Quinn; eight great-grandchildren; and former wife, Fannie Emery of Little Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
