Charity Watson struck out 17 batters in a one-hit gem, while also collecting three hits and driving in three runs as the Washington Lady Pam Pack topped West Carteret, 6-0, in Tuesday’s Coastal Conference softball action.
Brittany Bryant had two hits, while Lilly Ann Arnold and Hayley Stowe had one each for the Pack.
Washington returns to action Thursday at D.H. Conley. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
Pack baseball wins again
The Washington Pam Pack baseball team picked up a 5-3 win over the West Carteret Patriots in Tuesday’s Coastal Conference action. The Pack used some late-inning magic, scoring two runs with two outs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
David Tyson got the win, and helped his own cause by ripping three hits. Justin Meekins homered, while Brandon Thomas added a pair of hits.
Michael Robinson notched the save.
Washington (8-4, 4-3) returns to action Thursday at D.H. Conley for a 7 p.m. contest.
Tigers top Redskins
The Williamston baseball team beat Roanoke, 14-6, in an Atlantic Conference clash.
Tigers’ pitcher Heath Rogerson took the win, giving up six runs on five hits in five innings with six strikeouts.
Kyle Peaks led the offensive surge for the Tigers, going 2-for-2 with a three-run blast and five RBIs. Christian Leggett added an RBI.
Williamston (6-4, 4-1) returns to action Thursday at Manteo.
JV softball team wins
The Washington junior varsity softball team made the long trip to West Carteret Tuesday and came home with a 14-3 victory.
Brandi Hardison was the winning pitcher. She also had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a triple.
Other top hitters for Washington were Robin Lilley (3-4, 3B), Ketouri Wooten (2-4), Morgan Rose (2-4) and Brittany Moss (2-4). Kristen Williams also hit a triple for the Lady Pack.
Washington plays at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at D.H. Conley.
Washington soccer falls
The Washington Pam Pack soccer team fell 7-0 to the West Carteret Patriots in Monday’s Coastal Conference girls action.
It was the fifth straight loss for the Pam Pack.
Washington (1-8, 1-6) returns to action today at D.H. Conley. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Terra Ceia third on links
The Terra Ceia Knights golf team finished third during Tuesday’s meet in Lasker. Northeast won the match with a 345, followed by Lawrence (369) and Terra Ceia (370).
Andrew Darkow paced the Knights with an 84. He was followed by Wayne Woolard (87), Grant Gelderman (93) and Marty Weston (106). Katherine Smith (123) also played for the Knights.
Pungo’s Forrest Howell carded a 97, while Austin Vann shot a 110.
Terra Ceia has two weeks off before returning to action.
