William E. Jennette, Jr., affectionately known as “Big Bud,” son of William E. and Mamie Jennette, Sr. passed peacefully April 7 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.
William was born and raised in the Sydney area. He retired from the Navy and the U.S. Postal Service. He attended St. James C.O.C. in Belhaven. He married Lutie Bess of Ole Field, Pantego.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Wanda of Newark, New Jersey; four brothers, Matthew, Leon, Daisy and Raymond of Belhaven; two sisters, Mrs. Lina Brown and Mrs. Mattlene Keech of Washington, NC; a host of devoted nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and six siblings, Rosa, Mary, Hannah, Jonathan, George and David.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at Cotten Funeral Home in Newark, N.J.
