Mrs. Mildred Dudley Jackson

Mrs. Mildred Dudley Jackson, age 87, a resident of Britthaven of Ayden, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at First Free Will Baptist Church, Washington with Mike Chandler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mrs. Jackson was born May 29, 1921 in Beaufort County to William Howell and Eva E. Boyd Dudley. She graduated from Plymouth High School. Mildred began her nursing career at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth and later retired from Britthaven of Washington. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Washington. On January 10, 1966 she married Artie Jackson who preceded her in death on July 2, 1984.
Survivors include her son, Charles E. Dawley and wife Anne of Columbus, MS; three daughters, Linda P. Allen and husband Lonnie of Washington, Nadine P. Martin, and Charlene P. Hunt both of Greenville, NC; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas E. Dawley, Jr.; one sister, Doris D. Cox; and husbands, Thomas E. Dawley, Sr. and Simon Petroff.
