Northside/PCS Phosphate Easter Tournament begins today

Area teams will be looking to earn some hardware as the Northside/PCS Phosphate Easter Tournament begins today at Northside High School.
All three Beaufort County schools will take part in the baseball tournament. Rivals Northside and Southside will play at 5 p.m. The loser of that game takes on the Washington Pam Pack at 8 p.m.
The two winners from today’s action will play for the championship, and a trophy, at 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Northside Panthers and Southside Seahawks are two of eight teams making up the softball bracket. They will be joined by Bear Grass, Jamesville, Farmville Central, Currituck County, Pamlico County and Edenton Holmes.
Admission to the tournament is $5 at the gate.
Northside High School booster passes will not be accepted.
The Southside Seahawks will open tournament play today at 10 a.m. against Jamesville. That will be followed by an 11:30 a.m. contest pitting Edenton Holmes against Pamlico County.
Currituck and Farmville Central will meet at 1 p.m., while Northside and Bear Grass will conclude championship-bracket play at 2:30 p.m.
The losers of the first two games will meet at 4 p.m., while the losers of the second two games collide at 5:30 p.m.
Action will continue Saturday. The championship game is set for 5:30 p.m.
