Mr. David Lee Boone, Jr., age 41, of 207 North Pierce Street, Washington, NC, peacefully slipped away to be in the presence of the Lord at Beaufort County Medical Center on May 8, 2009. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Cornerstone Family Worship Center, 1918 West Fifth Street. Arrangements are by the Randolph Funeral Home, 219 Bonner Street. Rev. Harry Wilkinson will be officiating. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the active Honor Guard of the Hyde County Correctional Center.
David was born on January 25, 1968 to David Lee &Lydia Ward Boone, Sr. in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was the third of five children. He graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1987. He attended Beaufort Community College, where he received his degree in Basic Law Enforcement Training and Criminal Justice.
David was employed as a Corrections Officer with the Hyde County Correctional Center, in Fairfield, NC. He was known as Lieutenant Boone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
David’s Celebration of Life will be remembered by his parents, David &Lydia Boone of the home; siblings: Marilyn Wilkinson (Harry), Ella Smaw, Stacey Keyes (Karl), Steven Boone (Pam), all of Washington, NC; One Maternal Grandmother: Ivia Ward of Chocowinity, NC.
His family will continue to receive family and friends at 112 Slatestone Road, Washington, NC. Services provided by the Randolph Funeral Home on Bonner Street.
