Mr. Roger Edwin Lee, age 63, a resident of 204 Clifton Ct., Newport News, VA died suddenly Tuesday May 12, 2009.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday May 16, 2009 at the Lee Family Cemetery officiated by Tony Krantz.
Mr. Roger was born in Beaufort County on February 27, 1946 son of the late Elijah Mansfield Lee and the late Nellie Mae Woolard Lee. He was a 1964 graduate of Bath High School and continued his education at the Newport News Ship Yard Apprentice School and Tidewater Community College. Mr. Roger married the former Denise Anne Calentine on July 23, 1989 who survives. He was a sales manager with Harbor Service Corp. in Hampton, VA. Mr. Roger was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and a member of Peninsula Baseball Umpire Society, where he served as secretary. He also umpired baseball for Denbigh Youth, Little League and the MD Tournament.
Surviving along with his wife Denise of the home are two daughters: Christy Lee of Wilmington and Mary L. Toms and her husband Jeff of Newport News; a son: Michael Lee and his wife Jamie of Newport News; a brother: Phillip Lee and his wife Diane of Washington; a sister: Treva L. Tankard and her husband Tad of Bath; four grandchildren: Ivey, Haley, Olivia and Nola; father and mother in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Deneen Weber of Rockbridge, IL; a sister-in-law: Linda Cunningham of Greenfield, IL, an uncle: J. G. Woolard, Jr. and wife Peggy and three nieces, three nephews, one great niece and one great nephew.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
