Mrs. Margaret Genevieve Keech

Mrs. Margaret Genevieve Apple Keech, age 85, a former resident of Washington, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Two Rivers Nursing Home, Neuse Campus in New Bern.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
Mrs. Keech was born in Guilford County on August 11, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Monroe Harrison Apple and the late Nannie Jane Andrews Apple. Mrs. Keech worked at Western Electric in Burlington and National Spinning in Washington. Later, she worked as a sales person and assistant manager at Jack’s Hallmark Shop in Washington. Mrs. Keech was a member of the Wanoca Presbyterian Church and the D.A.V.
Mrs. Keech was married to Bonnie Gray Keech, who preceded her in death, March 5, 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Greene and her husband, Rick of New Bern, Joyce Murphrey of Wilmington; three grandchildren, John Braddy, Jr. of Spruce Pine, Leisa Fallon of Wake Forest, Rob Murphrey of Nashville, TN; one great grandchild, Caroline Fallon of Wake Forest and one brother, M.H. Apple of Washington.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Keech was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Asby and Lola Allison and one brother, Billy Apple.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Margaret Greene, 110 Raft Road, New Bern.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern N.C. Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
