Mrs. Annie Mildred Ruffin, 93, of 1084 U.S. Hwy. 64 E., Plymouth, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Washington County Hospital.
A funeral will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Second Zion Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in Second Zion Grove cemetery,
Mrs. Ruffin was born on July 1, 1915 in Bertie County. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Small and Clara Bond Small. She was a member of Second Zion Grove Baptist Church. She was married to the late Jimmie Ruffin, Sr.
Survivors include six sons: Albert Ruffin, Brooklyn, Ralph Ruffin, Knightdale, Willie Lee Ruffin, Mount Vernon, Clinton Ruffin, Donald Ruffin, both of Plymouth, Calvin Ruffin, Kansas City, KS; seven daughters: Emma Carlise, Gwen Ruffin both of Hampton, Cora Mays, Plymouth, Carol Horton, Creswell, Joyce Whitehurst, Williamston, Tassie Ruffin, Washington, NC, Shelly Jester, Newport News; three brothers: Carlton Small, Albert Small both of Plymouth, Charlie Sharpe, Roper; four sisters: Vienia Small Blount, Castolee Small, Paris Small Jacobs, all of Plymouth, Lavender Small Murphy, Newport News; forty-four grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
The body will be placed in Church at 1:00pm Satuday.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Cora Mays, 805-A E Main St., Plymouth.
