Norfolk — Lloyd A. Fentress, 55, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd C. and Ernestine Fentress; and his brother, Paul Fentress.
Lloyd retired from the Virginian Pilot in 2004 and was currently working for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Lloyd was a Certified EMT and his favorite hobby was creating music.
His survivors include his sisters, Doris Hampton and her husband “Bucky”, and Phyllis Slate and her husband Richard; a son, Antone Fentress; niece, Theresa Carr and her husband Andy of Maryland; nephews, John Fisher and Derek Slate of Chesapeake and Paul, Ronnie and Roger Fentress of Ohio; two great-nephews, Austin and Adam Carr and other great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Smith &Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the service. Burial will be in the Yatesville Cemetery in North Carolina following the services.
