Marie Cutler Hedgepeth, 78, of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Washington, NC and graduated from Washington School of Practical Nursing and the Roanoke Rapids Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was a member of the East Tenth Street Church of Christ in Roanoke Rapids.
Mrs. Hedgepeth was preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years, W.R. “Spot” Hedgepeth; her parents, Charlie E. Cutler and Katherine Cutler Jefferson; two brothers, Ernest E. and Perry G. Cutler; one sister, Maggie C. Lee.
She is survived by one daughter, Amy H. Cagle and her husband, Don, of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, William Edward Hedgepeth and his wife, Kitty, of Washington, NC, David D. Hedgepeth and his wife, Donna, of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; brother-in-law, Wadis Hedgepeth and his wife, Marion; Sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilkins; several nieces and nephews.
Wrenn, Clarke &Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service is taking care of arrangements where services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, in the Chapel with Minister David Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the Piney Grove Cemetery, Washington, NC, with Ministers Jim Reed and Glenn Brickhouse officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 30, 2009, from 11:00 until 12:00 at the Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ, Washington, NC.
