Ruth moved to North Carolina in 1956 and was a long-time resident of Market St. Ext. She was an active member of First Baptist Church until relocating in April 2003 to Lynchburg, VA to live with her daughter, Sandra Taylor Day and son-in-law Robert. She enjoyed her remaining years interacting with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Sandra Day and husband Bob of Lynchburg, and Patricia Taylor; one sister, Dorothy Whited Atkins of Washington; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews from the Whited and Taylor lines. Many friends from Raleigh and Washington will miss her including her grandson’s father, Robert Grissett and wife MaryAnn and close friend Dave Lattimore who called Ruth his “second mom”.
