William “Slade” Tripp, age 40, of 39 Ridgecrest Drive, Chocowinity, died suddenly Monday, June 1, at Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at Hillside Funeral Service with the Rev. Kenneth Pritchard officiating. Mark Langley, Chad Langley, Jeff Haddock, Jeff Rhinehart, Dick Denton, and Bruce Cole will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 4th, at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, N.C., and other times at the home, 39 Ridgecrest Drive, Chocowinity, N.C.
Slade was born April 27, 1969, in Pitt County. He was the son of the late William Lamont Tripp and Sharry Tripp. Slade loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the Pamlico River. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and crabbing.
In addition to his wife, Jennifer McDermott Tripp, he is survived by his mother and step-father, Sharry Tripp and Carroll Allen of Raleigh; sister Ashlie Berry and husband Greg of Charlotte; brother Teague K Tripp of Greenville; grandparents Amos and Nita Teague of Southern Pines; nieces Chase Ashlie Berry and Ireland Nicole Berry.
He was preceded in death by his father William Lamont Tripp; a stepson PV2 Michael “Lil Mikey” Wayne Murdock; and his grandparents Marion Lamont Tripp and William Francis Tripp.
