Mr. Frank Anthony Perz, Sr., a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Friday June 5, 2009 at Britthaven Nursing Center of Washington.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday June 12, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Rev. George Jones.
Mr. Perz was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 23, 1938 son of the late Matthew Perz and the late Frances Osovnik Perz. He attended high school in New York and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Perz married the former Margaret W. Popken on June 30, 1989 who survives. He was a clerk with Pan Am and Delta Airlines. Upon his retirement in 2000, Mr. Perz made his home in Blounts Creek where he continued his hobby of being a precise woodworker, builder of model boats and furniture to display his craftsmanship. He attended the Chocowinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with Mr. Perz's wife Margaret of the home are two sons: Frank A. Perz, Jr. of Huntington Station, NY and Michael John Perz of Centerport, NY; a step daughter: Joanne Wenner of Baiting Hollow, NY; a brother: Matthew Perz of Northport, NY; a sister: Mary Ward of Centerport, NY; six grandchildren and a devoted pet Zoe.
The family will receive friends following the service at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Chocowinity United Methodist Church, Music Fund, P.O. Box 640, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
