Mr. Albert W. Dixon

Mr. Albert Wesley Dixon, age 84, a resident of 50 Elks Rd., Chocowinity, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at his home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 13, 2009 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Chris Whitley, Matthew Whitley, Chris Dixon, Lee Brame, Chris Rutland and Steven Dixon his grandson’s will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Dixon was born December 8, 1924 in Albany, Georgia to the late Wesley and Evelyn Adams Dixon. Mr. Dixon served in United States Navy. On June 17, 1947 he married Carolyn Jean Perry who survives. He was employed for 15 years with IMC and then 15 years with Texas Gulf where he retired in 1982.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean Perry Dixon of the home, one son, John W. Dixon of Atoka, TN, two daughters, Susan D. Whitley of Chocowinity and Carolyn D. Garris of Chocowinity, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and caregivers, Ms. Ida and Ms. Duck. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Dixon Trupiano.
The family will receive friends at the home, 50 Elks Rd., Chocowinity, NC 27817.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Hodges Chapel Church, 569 Carrow Rd., Chocowinity, NC 27817.
