Mr. Otis L. Jones of 449 Union Street, Belhaven, N.C. died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1 p.m. at The Beaufort County High School Alumni Building, 150 Swamp Road, Pantego, N.C. with Elder Barry James officiating. Burial will follow in Northside Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born May 6, 1956 to JoAnn J. Willingham and the late Hartha Willingham. He received his formal education in the Job Corps. He was later employed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., in the Maintenance Department. He worked as a Welder for Pungo Machine Shop in Pantego, N.C. He was married to Ella Sadler “Nut,” “Sug” Jones who survives.
Survivors include: Three sons, Edward Freeman of Belhaven, N.C., Harvey Jones and Raymond Freeman of Boone, N.C.; stepson: Demetrius Sadler of Williamston, N.C.; stepdaughter: Gladys Winfield of Belhaven, N.C.; four sisters, Ernestine, Janice, Katie and Margaret; three brothers: Harvey, Michael and Gregory; mother-in-law, Lydia Freeman; eighteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leslie Jones; his brother, Roy C. Jones and his father- and mother-in-law, James and Peggy Milton Sadler.
Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2009 from 1-6 p.m. at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel and 12-1 p.m. Saturday at the Beaufort County High School Alumni Building, 150 Swamp Road, Pantego, N.C.
Arrangements are by Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
