Sylvester Carlton ‘S.C.’ Ange

Sylvester Carlton “S.C.” Ange, 79, of Jamesville left this earth to be with his heavenly father on June 26, 2009 surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 5, 1930 in Winterville, N.C. and is the son of the late Sylvester Horton and Minnie Mae Ange. He endured much suffering during his lengthy illness, but never lost faith that a better life was waiting.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ, Plymouth with Bob Moulden, Elbert Lilley, Johnny Barber and Marty Swinson officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery, Highway 171, Jamesville, N.C.
He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1992 after working 42 years in stock prep. He was a member of Plymouth Church of Christ and enjoyed helping others when physically able. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Pine Tree Hunting Club and Jamesville Hunting Club. He found great joy in activities involving the grandchildren and just riding them in the golf cart.
Mr. Ange was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis Ange, Leroy Ange, Clifford Ange and Russell Ange.
Survivors include his wife and high school sweetheart, Grace Swinson Ange of Jamesville, N.C.; son, Carl Swinson Ange and wife Pamela of Plymouth, N.C.; grandchildren, Blair Ange Jarrett and husband J.P. Jarrett of Jamesville, N.C., Alexis Ange and David Oliver of Plymouth, N.C.; his adopted grandchildren, Brooke and Austin Oliver of Jamesville, N.C.; great granddaughter, Hylee Ange Jarrett of Jamesville, N.C. and many nieces and nephews, all very precious to him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ Family Life Center and other times at the home at 3040 Free Union Road, Jamesville, N.C. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jamesville Rescue Squad or Plymouth Church of Christ Building Fund. Arrangements are by Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth.
