FARM LIFE, NC — Mrs. Rosa P. Griffin, 88, passed to heaven on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Reddicks Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Williamston with Pastor Sam Bullock and Larry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will follow in the Tice Cemetery, Farm Life Community.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Reddicks Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 Reddicks Grove Church Road, Williamston and other times at her home.
Mrs. Griffin was born June 6, 1921 in Martin County. She was the daughter of the late Garland Perry and Alice Hodges Perry. She attended Williamston High School and lived most of her life in Martin County. She was married to Thurman L. Griffin, Sr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker and a member of Reddicks Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three children, Julia G. Rodgerson and husband, Joe of Everetts, Thurman Lawrence Griffin, Jr. and wife, Jane, and Gary Griffin and wife, Toni, both of Williamston; two grandchildren, William Griffin Holliday and Abby Lee Griffin, both of Williamston; four step-grandchildren, Brett Tilmon Roberson of Williamston, Lindsey N. Roberson of Wilmington, Natalie Mallard of Orlando, FL, and Marlowe Wynne Hereford; one step-great-grandchild, Emily Gurkin. She is also survived by her dedicated and loving sister, Elizabeth Irene Griffin.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Annette Griffin.
