Ms. Claudia Jean Allen Kegley, age 69, a resident of Charlotte Courthouse, VA and formerly of Beaufort County died Tuesday July 14, 2009.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday July 17, 2009 at Davis Cemetery officiated by Stanley Allen.
Ms. Kegley was born in Beaufort County on October 17, 1939, daughter of the late Lewis F. Allen and Estelle Mae Williams Allen. She was employed in hotel management at the Holiday Inn in Washington and Greenville. She also was bookkeeper for Harris Farms in Roper. Ms. Kegley was a member of Wenona Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter: Linda K. Barnes and her husband, Ronnie of Charlotte Courthouse, VA; her son: Don Kegley and his wife, Janet of South Hill, VA; three sisters: Hilda Jones of Smithfield, VA, Deliah Boyd and her husband, Onnie of Washington, Peggy Allen and her husband, Benji of Newport News, VA; and two grandchildren: Mark Barnes and Carrie Barnes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Roland Allen and Lewis Williams Allen.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mike and Susan Harris located at 534 North Slope Rd. in the Wenona Community.
