Miss Dicey Alice Gurkin, age 90, a resident of 263 H.O. Gurkin Rd., Pinetown, NC died Thursday July 16, 2009 at the Ridgewood Nursing Home of Washington.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday July 20, 2009 at the Gurkin-Waters Family Cemetery of Pinetown officiated by Rev. Bill Mobley.
Miss Gurkin was born in Pinetown on May 11, 1919 daughter of the late William John Gurkin and the late Dicey Alice Woolard Gurkin. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister: Ada Gurkin of Pinetown; two nephews: Michael Gurkin of Raleigh and Jack Gurkin of Pinetown; a niece: Jeanette Johnson of Chesapeake, VA and five great nephews: Michael and Scott Gurkin, Adam Johnson, Russell Johnson and Gabriel Johnson.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday July 19, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home.
