Elva A. Voliva 1925-2009

Elva Florida Allen Voliva, 84, of 428 Mills Road, Columbia died Friday, July 17, 2009, at her home.
Born in Washington County, January 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Credle and Lillie Allen. She was married to Hubert Marvin Voliva who preceded her in death. She worked as a teacher’s aide in the Tyrrell County Public Schools and was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Bryan Funeral Service in Columbia. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are sons, Hubert Dale Voliva, Sr. and wife, Dora of Columbia, Timothy Allen Voliva of Asheboro; daughters, Lynn V. Davenport and husband, Tommy of Columbia and Joyce Pearl White and husband, Michael of Goldsboro; brothers, Jay Allen and Paul J. Allen both of Pantego, Sam Allen of Washington; sisters, Nell Harris of Pinetown, Shirley Chesson of Manassas, Va.; grandchildren, Jason Davenport, David Davenport, Christina Coleson, Hubert Voliva, Jr. and Greta Meadows; great-grandchildren, Tucker Davenport, Cami Coleson and Joslyn Voliva.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Voliva was preceded in death by grandchildren, Andrea Hirmke and Angelique Sawyer; brother, Robert Wayne Allen; sisters, Myrtle McLean, Carol Gomez and Gloria Patricia Allen.
