Ms. Maureen Blackwell, 50, of 253 Labor Camp Road, Edward, departed Monday, July 27, 2009, at Carolina East Medical Center, New Bern.
Going home services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, in St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Edward, with Pastor Hazelean Becton Royal officiating. Burial will follow in The Blackwell’s Family Cemetery, Edward.
Ms. Blackwell was born in Kings County, Brooklyn, NY, on January 22, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Artis Lee Blackwell and Joyce Lee Blackwell.
Survivors include her fiance Lawrence Blount of the home; seven sisters, Frieda Blackwell of Raleigh, NC; Theresa Lettley of Chicago, IL; Carol Blackwell, Vonciel Blackwell, Arlisa Blackwell, Andrea Blackwell and Erika Blackwell, all of Brooklyn, NY; and two brothers, Kerry Blackwell and Kenny Blackwell, both of Brooklyn, NY.
The family will receive friends at the home, 253 Labor Camp Road, Edward. Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
