Mr. Marlow Paul

Mr. Rufus “Marlow” Paul, age 73, a resident of 102 Carls Woods Drive, Pinetown, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Clairs Church of Christ, Hwy 99, South, Bath, conducted by Craig Hagen and Phillip Paul. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: James Taunton, Ellis Liverman, Roger Brooks, Larry Paul, Butch Talbot and Lennie Paul. Glenn Roper, Tom Bono, Billy Baynor, Gerald Strickland, Sherman Bonney and Mac Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Paul was born in Beaufort County on February 22, 1936. He was the son of the late Phillip Edward Paul and Nora Odessia McGowan Paul. Mr. Paul served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired commercial fisherman. Mr. Paul was a member of the St. Clairs Church of Christ and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
On December 23, 1959, Mr. Paul married the former Dorothy Arnold, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Jay Paul and his wife, Tammy, Phillip Paul and his wife, Sharon all of Bath; a sister, Cecilia Paul Warrington of Chocowinity; three grandchildren, Kayla Paul, Mallory Paul and Tyler Paul; and five step grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Carroll Paul.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home.
