Colon Ireland, 87, of New Bern died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby, of 66 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Robin Deal and husband, Buddy, of Apex and Joyce Corrieri and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009 at South Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Merritt Watson, nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
