Tigers to battle Redskins|First of two meetings for rivals

Williamston looks to keep its record unblemished when it faces Four Rivers Conference and Martin County rival, Roanoke, tonight. It’s the first of two meetings between the two teams, with the latter coming on the final week of the regular season.
The Tigers (2-0), last year’s Class 1-A state runners-up, are coming off a 20-0 win over Edenton-Holmes. Cedric Moody led the way with 115 yards rushing and two scores.
Quarterback Luke Matthews added a touchdown run of his own.
Roanoke (0-1) is coming off a 32-12 loss to North Pitt.
The Redskins play host to Gates County next Friday night.
Williamston has a bye next week. The Tigers return to action Sept. 18 at North Pitt.
PLYMOUTH AT EDENTON-HOLMES
The Plymouth Vikings will look to make it two straight when they play at Edenton-Holmes tonight.
Plymouth (1-1) is coming off a 50-0 win over Jamesville. Ronnell Blount scored two touchdowns and ran for 95 yards. Dylan Watts picked up 125 yards and a score. Elmer Cooper gained 60 yards and punched one into the end zone. Jamera Blount added a 40-yard fumble return for a score. Quadri Pettiford and Kevin Purkett also had scores.
Edenton (1-1) fell 20-0 to Williamston last Friday night.
The Vikings play host to Northampton-West next Friday night.
CRESWELL AT MATTAMUSKEET
The Creswell Tigers put their undefeated record on the line when they pay a visit to Mattamuskeet to take on the Lakers.
Creswell (2-0) held off Southside 28-22 last week. Timelle Sawyer ran for 161 yards and a score last week. Gary Blount hauled in three passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.
On the defensive side, Shaton Basnight had nine tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a score.
The Lakers (0-0) are playing their season opener.
Creswell returns to action Sept. 18 at home against Cape Hatteras.
COLUMBIA AT CAPE HATTERAS
The Columbia Wildcats are scheduled to visit Cape Hatteras.
Columbia (0-1) plays at Jamesville next Friday night.
