Ms. Evalena Satterthwaite, 67, a resident of 1109 N. Bonner St., Washington, NC, died Friday, September 11, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at The Temple of Jesus Christ, 906 West 8th Street, Washington, NC, officiated by Bishop James Woolard. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, NC.
Ms. Satterthwaite was born in Beaufort County on May 28, 1942, daughter of the late Johnnie and Carrie Simmons Satterthwaite. She attended the former City of Washington Schools and retired from the National Spinning Company. She was a member of The Temple of Jesus Christ.
She was predeceased by a son, Marvin Satterthwaite, and two brothers, Johnnie Satterthwaite, and William Earl Satterthwaite.
She is survived by: two daughters, Veronica Chapman, Newport News, VA., and Tadra Satterthwaite of Washington, NC; a son, Tyrone Satterthwaite, Washington, NC; two brothers, Joseph Satterthwaite and Rayvon Satterthwaite, both of Washington, NC; three sisters, Dorothy McLamb and Debra Satterthwaite, Washington, NC, and Evon Saxton of Rochester, NY; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and one daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Satterthwaite.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Tadra Satterthwaite, 989 West 9th St., Washington, NC. Viewing at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 North Bonner St., Washington, NC, on Friday, September 18, 2009, 1-7 p.m.
