Maeola Daniels Pollard, age 76, a resident of 107 Pine Drive, Chocowinity, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Tony Krantz officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Billy Ellison, Dewayne Ellison, Daniel Clark, Cody Clark, Gary Daniels and Douglas Lilley will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Ms. Pollard was born in Beaufort County on February 25, 1933 to Maurice and Alma Alligood Daniels who preceded her in death. She graduated from Bath High School in 1951. Maeola was a member of University Church of Christ in Greenville. She worked for many years as a certified Nursing Assistant I at Cypress Glen in Greenville where she found much joy caring for the residents. Maeola also loved to travel.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Oliver; a son, Ottis Clark; and a daughter, Debbie Ellison all of Chocowinity; a son, Oscar Clark of York Town, VA; and a son, Eddie Clark of Washington; one sister, Edna Lilley of Jamesville; one brother, James Daniels of Gulf Port, MS; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren plus two imminent arrivals.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers.
