Evelyn Rae Paul Edwards Redditt, 86, of Aurora died at Britthaven of Pamlico on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at 11:50 p.m.
She was born on June 10, 1923 in Aurora, NC and was the daughter of the late William Edward Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Emery Howerin Paul.
She is survived by her three sons, Gerry Lee Edwards and wife, Jane, of Charlotte, Walt Dumont Edwards of Fuquay Varina, and Ronald Harderson (Ronnie) Edwards and wife, Lynn, of Aurora; and one daughter, Evelyn Marie Lewis and husband, Rev. Terry Lewis, of Aurora; three grandchildren, Amy Edwards Phelps and husband, Tim, of Charlotte, Denise Lewis Vilches and husband, Rod, of Aurora, and Jonathan Lewis of Aurora; and five great-grandchildren, Abigail Phelps and twin grandsons, Will and Blake Phelps all of Charlotte, Nicholas and Elena Vilches both of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gabbie Harderson Edwards and David Earl Redditt both of Aurora, brother, Norwood Howerin and wife, Eula Bell Cayton, two sisters, Ruth Howerin Hall and Hattie Mae Paul of Aurora.
Evelyn was a member of Aurora Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude Nethercutt officiating. Burial will be at Pineland Cemetery near the intersection of Highway 306 and 33, Aurora.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.
