Haywood continues to find the end zone|Daniels has another big day for Braves

Bryan Haywood ran for two touchdowns, including a career-long 96-yard burst to start the scoring, to lead North Carolina Wesleyan past Greensboro College, 35-13, on Saturday.
Haywood, a former star at Southside High School, also scored on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter. He finished with 128 yards rushing on nine totes. The senior also had one catch for 23 yards.
For the season, Haywood has a team-high 463 yards rushing on 67 carries (6.9 average) and six touchdowns. He also has six receptions for 68 yards, and one kickoff return for 24 yards.
(Former Williamston High school standout Jarrett Coffield went 0 for 1 passing in the game for the Bishops.)
Wesleyan (3-2, 2-0 USA South) plays at Christopher Newport University in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
TRAVIS DANIELS
Travis Daniels scored his seventh touchdown of the season for UNC-Pembroke in Saturdays 38-7 win over Fairmont State.
Daniels scored on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.
The former Washington Pam Pack star ran for 128 yards on 20 carries.
For the season, Daniels has rushed for a team-best 725 yards and seven scores on 101 carries (7.2 average). He also has eight catches for 77 yards.
The Braves (5-1) play at Fairmont State in a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
TERRY GRIFFIN
Terry Griffin, a former standout at Roanoke High School, had four tackles for Elizabeth City in Saturdays 37-33 loss to Bowie State. He also forced two fumbles and had one sack.
For the season, the junior defensive tackle has 26 tackles, including 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a quarterback hurry.
The Vikings (4-3, 2-2 CIAA) play host to Bowie State in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
C.J. WILSON
C.J. Wilson, the Conference USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, had two tackles for East Carolina in Saturdays 28-21 loss to SMU.
Wilson, a former star at Northside High School, has 27 tackles, including 3.5 tackles-for-loss (14 yards), 1.5 sacks for 11 yards in loss, four quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery this season.
Wilson has 25 sacks, 38.5 tackles-for-loss, 25 quarterback hurries and 158.5 tackles in his career.
The Pirates (3-2, 2-0 C-USA) play at SMU in an 8 p.m. game Saturday.
JAMONT JONES
Jamont Jones had a busy day for Lenoir-Rhyne in Saturdays 50-49 loss to Wingate.
The former Washington Pam Pack star had three kickoff returns for 79 yards (26.3 average), two punts returns for seven yards (3.5 average) and three tackles from his defensive back spot.
Jones, a special teams standout, has 14 kickoff returns for 414 yards (29.6 average), which includes a 94-yard return for a score, and five punt returns for 48 yards (9.6 average). The starting defensive back also has one interception, 21 tackles and one blocked kick.
The Bears (4-3, 1-2 SAC) play host to Carson-Newman in a 7 p.m. game Saturday.
JERRAIL MCCULLER
Jerrail McCuller is the right tackle for the N.C. State Wolfpack.
McCuller, a 6-7, 325-pound senior, is a native of Jamesville. He led the Wolfpack offense with 795 snaps played in 2008.
The Wolfpack (3-3, 0-2), a 49-28 loser to Duke on Saturday, plays at Boston College in a 3:30 p.m. game Saturday.
GREG PALMER
Greg Palmer, a former star at Northside High School, had five tackles for Chowan in Saturdays 42-33 win over Livingstone College.
For the season, the senior co-captain has a team-high 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss (23 yards), two sacks (17 yards), one interception, one fumble recovery and one quarterback hurry.
The Hawks (1-6, 1-3 CIAA) play host to Shaw University in a 6 p.m. game Saturday.
JAMEL MOORE
Jamel Moore, a former standout at Williamston High School, did not have any stats in Livingstones 42-33 loss to Chowan on Saturday.
For the year, Moore has six kickoff returns for 181 yards (30.2 average), eight receptions for 116 yards and 19 rushes for 5 yards.
The Blue Bears (0-7, 0-4 CIAA) play at St. Augustine College in a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
WILLIAM HUNT
William Hunt, a former star at Plymouth High School, did not play in Fayetteville States 29-28 win over Shaw on Saturday.
The freshman defensive tackle has four tackles on the season.
The Broncos (4-3, 4-1 CIAA) play at Johnson C. Smith in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
CHASE TRIPP
Chase Tripp and his Winston-Salem Rams had the weekend off.
The freshman defensive lineman, a former standout with the Washington Pam Pack, has two tackles and one pass break-up this season.
Tripp has appeared in three games.
The Rams (0-5) play at UC Davis (Calif.) in a 9 p.m. game Saturday.
KENNETH HYMAN
Kenneth Hyman, a former star at Roanoke High School, and his Guilford College Quakers had the weekend off.
For the season, the sophomore cornerback has eight tackles, five pass breakups and one punt return for 17 yards.
The Quakers (1-4) play at Bridgewater in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
TERRANCE COPPER
Terrance Copper, a former standout at Washington High School, had one special teams tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sundays 26-20 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Copper has one catch for 8 yards, and three special teams tackles this season.
The Chiefs (0-5) play at Washington in a 1 p.m. game Sunday.

JOHN LOHMAN
John Lohman, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing with the Pfeiffer Falcons soccer team.
The freshman midfielder had one shot on goal in his teams 4-0 win over Barton College on Tuesday. Lohman has appeared in three games.
Pfeiffer (8-3, 5-1 Conference Carolinas) plays at Coker on Tuesday.

Smith, a former standout at Washington High School, has one goal this season for the Methodist Monarchs.
The freshman has played in five of her teams games.
The Monarchs (8-5-1, 4-1-1 USA South) play at Christopher Newport on Saturday and at North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday.

Jeanna Buck, a former standout at Washington High School, has played in all 11 games for the Peace soccer team this season. The freshman defender/midfielder has started in nine of those games. She has nine shots, including five shots on goal, this year.
Peace (1-10, 1-3 USA South) plays host to North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday and host to Christopher Newport University on Sunday.

Stephen Cullop, a former standout at Terra Ceia, has played in four games for the Waldorf Warriors soccer team.
The freshman goalie has five saves and has allowed seven goals in 83 minutes, 38 seconds of time in the net.
The Warriors (4-11) play at Mt. Mercy College (Cedar Rapids, IA) on Wednesday.

Danielya Whitney has 11 kills and three digs for Pitt Community College.
Whitney, a former standout at Southside High School, is a freshman middle blocker for the Bulldogs.

TRENT WHITEHEAD
Trent Whitehead, a former standout at Washington High School, played in the first game of the annual East Carolina Purple-Gold World Series.
The junior went 1-for-1 with a double, a walk and a run scored in the series. Because of being banged up a bit, Whitehead was held out of most of the series.
BUD ROBERTSON
Bud Robertson, a former standout at Williamston High School, appeared in one game during the annual East Carolina Purple-Gold World Series.
Robertson pitched 1 2/3 innings, giving up one hit and striking out three of the six batters he faced.
DAMIEN WILKINS
Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, had eight points, five rebounds and
a steal for the Minnesota Timberwolves in Fridays 112-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors in preseason play.
Minnesota plays the Chicago Bulls in another preseason game Wednesday.

ELTON COFFIELD
Elton Coffield, a former standout at Williamston High School, is playing for the BSW Sixers in Germany.
Coffield is averaging 25.0 points per game.

Joseph Barber, a former standout at Terra Ceia, is playing for CS Energia Rovinari in Romania.
Barber is averaging 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
RALPH BIGGS
Ralph Biggs, a former star at Washington High school, is playing for Krasnie Krilya Samara in Russia.
He averaged 10.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals last year. Krasnie tips off the season Oct. 21.
