Mrs. Carol Sparrow Keech, age 69, a resident of 6814 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC went to be with her Lord Wednesday October 14, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday October 17, 2009 at Free Union Original Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Woodrow Freeze, III and Steve Hill. A private burial will be held later. Will Lowe, Trent Midgette, Steve Midgette, Kenny Jefferson, Forrest Warren, Freddy Warren, Lloyd Sawyer, Jr. and Dale Friend will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Carol was born in Beaufort County on March 29, 1940 daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Sparrow, Jr. and the late Maggie Elizabeth Sparrow Foreman. She attended John A. Wilkinson High School. Mrs. Carol married Linwood Gray Keech on July 7, 1957 who survives. Although she was co-owner and operator of Coastal Wood Products, Inc. along with her husband, she considered her most important job as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Free Union Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving along with her husband Linwood are a son: Terry Lynn Keech and his wife Linda of Bath; a daughter: Tena Keech Hudson and her husband Travis, Jr. of Chocowinity; four sisters: Judy S. Friend of Belhaven, Paige S. Sawyer and her husband Lloyd of Pinetown, Jane S. Sawyer and her husband Billy of Bath and Becky Sparrow of Belhaven and four grandchildren: “T.J.” Webster, Jr., Carol Lynn Keech, Kathryn Hudson and Bryan Hudson. Mrs. Carol was preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Thomas “J.T.” Sparrow.
The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday October 16, 2009 at Free Union Original Free Will Baptist Church.
