Watson continues to pitch well for PCC Bulldogs|Haywood finds the end zone again

Charity Watson continues to impress on the college diamond.
The former Washington Pam Pack star, a four-time WDN Softball Pitcher of the Year, put together two more solid outings in the Fall College Mixer. Watson won both games she pitched by shutout.
The Pitt Community College Bulldogs freshman fanned 11 and walked just one in a complete-game effort in a 5-0 nod over Newberry College. Watson then struck out 10 in a 6-0 win over the Tennessee White Lightning.
Pitt faces East Carolina on Oct. 30.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
BRYAN HAYWOOD
Bryan Haywood scored his seventh touchdown of the season, coming on a pass reception to help lead the North Carolina Wesleyan Bishops to a 35-7 win over Christopher Newport on Saturday.
Haywood, a former star at Southside High School, hauled in a 19-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. He led the Bishops with six catches for 69 yards.
He added 69 yards rushing on 15 carries.
For the season, Haywood has a team-high 532 yards rushing on 82 carries (6.5 average) and six touchdowns. He also has 12 receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown, and one kickoff return for 24 yards.
Wesleyan (4-2, 3-0 USA South) plays host to Maryville College in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
C.J. WILSON
C.J. Wilson, the Conference USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, had a big day for the East Carolina Pirates in Saturdays 49-13 win over Rice.
Wilson had seven tackles, three quarterback hurries, two tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and a sack.
Wilson, a former star at Northside High School, has 34 tackles, including 5.5 tackles-for-loss (24 yards), 2.5 sacks (16 yards in loss), seven quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery this season.
The Pirates (4-3, 3-1 C-USA) play at Memphis in an 8 p.m. game on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
TERRY GRIFFIN
Terry Griffin, a former standout at Roanoke High School, had five tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for the Elizabeth City State University Vikings in Saturdays 54-18 win over Lincoln.
For the season, the junior defensive tackle has 32 tackles, including 6.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry.
The Vikings (5-3, 3-2 CIAA) play at St. Pauls College in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
JAMONT JONES
Jamont Jones returned the opening kickoff 65 yards, setting up a short touchdown run for the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears. However, the Bears fell 17-13 to Carson-Newman on Saturday.The former Washington Pam Pack star had two kickoff returns for 80 yards and one punt return for 9 yards. He also finished with four tackles.
Jones, a special teams standout, has 16 kickoff returns for 494 yards (30.9 average), which includes a 94-yard return for a score, and six punt returns for 57 yards (9.5 average). The starting defensive back also has one interception, 25 tackles and one blocked kick.
The Bears (4-4, 1-3 SAC) play at Mars Hill in a 2:30 p.m. game Saturday.
JERRAIL MCCULLER
Jerrail McCuller is the right tackle for the N.C. State Wolfpack, who fell 52-20 to Boston College on Saturday.
McCuller, a 6-7, 325-pound senior, is a native of Jamesville and is one of three captains on the squad this year.
He made his 24th consecutive start against Boston College, which is the longest streak on the team.
The Wolfpack (3-4, 0-3) has next week off. State returns to action at Florida State on Saturday, Oct. 31.
GREG PALMER
Greg Palmer, a former star at Northside High School, had 4.5 tackles for the Chowan Braves in Saturdays 53-20 loss to Shaw.
For the season, the senior co-captain has a team-high 41.5 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss (23 yards), two sacks (17 yards), one interception, one fumble recovery and one quarterback hurry.
The Hawks (1-7, 1-4 CIAA) play host to Johnson C. Smith in a 6 p.m. game Saturday.
CHASE TRIPP
Chase Tripp had one tackle for the Winston-Salem Rams in Saturdays 45-14 loss to UC Davis (Calif.).
The freshman defensive lineman, a former standout with the Washington Pam Pack, has three tackles and one pass break-up this season.
Tripp has appeared in four games.
The Rams (0-6) play at Bethune Cookman (Daytona Beach, Fla.) in a 4 p.m. game Saturday.
KENNETH HYMAN
Kenneth Hyman, a former star at Roanoke High School, had three tackles and an interception for the Guilford College Quakers in Saturdays 40-9 loss to Bridgewater.
For the season, the sophomore cornerback has 11 tackles, five pass breakups, one interception and one punt return for 17 yards.
The Quakers (1-5, 0-2) play host to Washington and Lee in a 1 p.m. game Saturday.
WILLIAM HUNT
William Hunt, a former star at Plymouth High School, played but did not record any stats for Fayetteville State in Saturdays 30-12 win over Johnson C. Smith.
The freshman defensive tackle has four tackles on the season.
The Broncos (5-3, 4-1 CIAA) play host to Saint Augustines in a 2 p.m. game Saturday.
TRAVIS DANIELS
Travis Daniels and his UNC-Pembroke Braves had the weekend off.
The former Washington Pam Pack star is putting up big numbers in his sophomore year.
For the season, Daniels has rushed for a team-best 725 yards and seven scores on 101 carries (7.2 average). He also has eight catches for 77 yards.
The Braves (6-1) play at Concord in a 1 p.m. game Saturday, Oct. 24.
JAMEL MOORE
Jamel Moore, a former standout at Williamston High School, did not have any stats for Livingstone College in Saturdays 31-7 loss to St. Augustine College.
For the year, Moore has six kickoff returns for 181 yards (30.2 average), eight receptions for 116 yards and 19 rushes for 5 yards.
The Blue Bears (0-8, 0-5 CIAA) play at Shaw University in a 4 p.m. game Saturday.

TERRANCE COPPER
Terrance Copper, a former standout at Washington High School, had three special teams tackles and helped down a bunt at the Washington 3-yard line for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sundays 14-6 win over the Washington Redskins.
Copper has one catch for 8 yards, and six special teams tackles this season.
The Chiefs (1-5) play host to the San Diego Chargers in a 1 p.m. game Sunday.

JOHN LOHMAN
John Lohman, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing with the Pfeiffer Falcons soccer team.
The freshman midfielder has one shot on goal and has appeared in three games.
Pfeiffer (10-3, 6-1 Conference Carolinas) plays at Newberry on Wednesday.
MARISSA SMITH,
Smith, a former standout at Washington High School, has one goal this season for the Methodist Monarchs.
The freshman has played in six of her teams games, starting one of them.
The Monarchs (8-7-1, 4-1-1 USA South) play host to Meredith College on Saturday and host to Peace College on Sunday.

Jeanna Buck, a former standout at Washington High School, has played in all 13 games for the Peace soccer team this season. The freshman defender/midfielder has started in 10 of those games. She has nine shots, including five shots on goal, this year.
Peace (1-12, 1-5 USA South) plays at Greensboro College on Saturday and at Methodist College on Sunday.

Stephen Cullop, a former standout at Terra Ceia, had five saves and allowed two goals in Saturdays 8-0 loss to Ashford University. Cullop has played in five games, starting one of them.
The freshman goalie has 10 saves and has allowed nine goals in 128 minutes, 38 seconds of time in the net.
The Warriors (4-13, 0-8) play host to Faith Baptist College on Saturday.

Danielya Whitney has 21 kills, five digs and three blocks for Pitt Community College.
Whitney, a former standout at Southside High School, is a freshman middle blocker for the Bulldogs.
Pitt (14-10) plays at Wake Tech Community College on Thursday.

Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, had 10 points, three rebounds and
a steal for the Minnesota Timberwolves in Wednesdays 99-94 loss to the Chicago Bulls in preseason play. In a starting role, Wilkins had 3 points and four rebounds in a 94-90 loss to the Bulls on Friday. Wilkins then had 10 points, three rebounds and three steals in Saturdays 101-87 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Minnesota plays at the Denver Nuggets in another preseason game Tuesday.

Elton Coffield, a former standout at Williamston High School, is playing for the BSW Sixers in Germany.
Coffield is averaging 25.0 points per game.

Joseph Barber, a former standout at Terra Ceia, is playing for CS Energia Rovinari in Romania.
Barber is averaging 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
RALPH BIGGS
Ralph Biggs, a former star at Washington High school, is playing for Krasnie Krilya Samara in Russia.
He averaged 10.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals last year. Krasnie tips off the season Oct. 21.
