Mrs. Kathleen Clark Wiggins Waters, 82, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Celestial Memorial Gardens officiated by the Revs. Lee Hendricks and Audrey Ormond.
Mrs. Waters, daughter of the late Lester Right and Effie Gatlin Clark, was born in the Askins community and was a lifelong resident of Craven County. She was a member of VFW post 1425, the Women of the Moose, Chapter 561, the Women’s MOCA Auxiliary, Post 2514 of New Bern and Palmetto Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Ira David Wiggins, Jr.; husbands, Ira David Wiggins and Carlyle Waters; grandson, Christopher James Hale; sister, Etta McCaffity and nephew, Clifton Mooney and his wife, Linda.
Surviving, daughter, Carolyn Hale and husband, Jimmy, of Vanceboro; brother, Ira David Clark and wife, Lee, of Epworth; Richard Ham and family; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Christopher Hale Band Scholarship, West Craven High School, c/o Brad Langhans, 2600 Streets Ferry Road, Vanceboro, NC 28586 in memory of Kathleen Waters.
