Mrs. Connie Lamb Prevatte, age 62, a resident of 217 Austin Pointe Drive, Magnolia Shores, Washington, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Susan Harrison.
Mrs. Prevatte was born in Fairmont in Robeson County on October 2, 1947. She was the daughter of Nell Bracey Lamb and the late Bruce Lamb. Mrs. Prevatte was a school teacher and education consultant. She taught school in several states. Mrs. Prevatte was an alumnus of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (N.C.C.A.T.) and a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Education Honor Society. A former resident of the Winston-Salem area, Mrs. Prevatte had lived in Washington for the past 10 years.
On September 8, 1968, she married Richard Durham Prevatte, Jr., who survives.
Surviving with her husband, Richard are her daughter, Ashley Prevatte Singleton and her husband, Greg, of Washington; her three grandsons, Samuel Durham Singleton, twins Tate Gregory Singleton and John Ashton Singleton all of Washington; and her mother, Nell Lamb of Fairmont.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Prevatte was preceded in death by two brothers, Aubra lamb and Ronald Lamb.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Greg Singleton, 409 Alderson Drive, Smallwood, Washington, and after the service in the church parlor at the First United Methodist Church.
