GREENVILLE — Mr. Bernice B. Bunting, 60, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Bunting, a native of Martin County, had lived his early life in Washington and then Greenville. He was a graduate Washington High School and served in the United States Navy. He had worked with Jones Brothers Tile and Carpet and later was employed with Pitt County Buildings and Grounds for 18 years. He was a former volunteer for Staton House Fire Dept No. 14 and had served as volunteer for Pactolus Rescue Squad. He was a member of the 15th Street Church of God in Washington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Bunting; brother, J. R. Bunting and father-in-law, Curtis Roebuck.
He is survived by his: wife of 22 years, Mary Roebuck Bunting; daughters, Tammy Taylor and husband, Dale, of Winterville; Crystal E. Griffin, Tina E. Morris and husband, James, of Ayden and Jackie L. Edwards; mother, Margaret Dudley; brothers, Bruce Bunting of Washington, and Willie Beacham of Pinetown; sisters, Mavis Carwile of Richmond, Va., Jean Stinson of Washington, Linda Squires of Bath, Sandy Silverthorne of Washington and Joyce Tetterton of Pinetown; three grandchildren; mother-in-law, Magdalene Roebuck.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
