Mr. William Flowers Holadia, age 85, a former resident of 724 Chapin Street, Aurora, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday December 27, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and will be conducted by Rev. Claude Nethercutt. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Mr. Holadia was born in Beaufort County on July 31, 1924 to the late Isaac Warren Holadia and Goldie Mae Flowers Holadia. On April 1, 1944 he married Mary Lois Purser who survives. He was a 1943 graduate of Aurora High School, was a farmer and served 30 years with the Aurora Fire Department. Mr. Holadia was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Rose Berry and husband James of Farmville; his son, William Billy Holadia of Ernul; five grandchildren, Michael Berry, Marcus Berry and wife Stephanie, Troy Holadia and wife Allison, Dale Holadia and wife Donelle, Lisa Eastwood and husband Dennis and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Mary Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service Sunday at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
