Mrs. Jemsinia H. Chandler, 89, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens.
Mrs. Chandler was born in Panama where she attended school through high school. She then attended business school in Jacksonville, FL, where she was married to the late Badger J. Chandler. Mrs. Chandler then returned to Panama to work for the government there. In 1969, she came to Vanceboro, where she worked at Cherry Point until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Badger J. Chandler, two sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Leona C. Sullivan and husband, Douglas, of Washington; and two nieces; and three nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
