Max Vernon Maneval

Mr. Max Vernon Maneval, age 82, a resident of Chocowinity, NC, died Saturday, January 9, 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Chocowinity United Methodist Church with Pastor George A. Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mr. Maneval was born in Tulsa, OK on September 10, 1927 to Roy and Irene Maneval. On May 26, 1951 he married Betty Sue Henry Maneval who survives. Max graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering Physics and received a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Oklahoma State University. He worked in industrial research and concluded his career as a math teacher in Tulsa. Max served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of Chocowinity United Methodist Church, Caring Christian Carpenters and Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Tulsa.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Lee Charles Maneval and wife Jill of Mineral Bluff, GA and Don Vernon Maneval and wife Jackie of Chocowinity, NC; one sister, Joan Meyer of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Joseph and wife Amber and Sarah Maneval; and one great grandchild, Lola Maneval.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Chocowinity United Methodist Church, 678 NC 33 West, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
