Mrs. Joyce Thigpen Cahoon, 69, a resident of 342 Mill Street, Belhaven, NC died Saturday January 16, 2010 at her home.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday January 20, 2010 at the Woolard Family Cemetery on Free Union Church Road officiated by Allen Harmon.
Mrs. Cahoon was born in Duplin County, NC on June 1, 1940 to the late Clyde Earl Thigpen and Nellie Lee Dunn Thigpen. She was married to Walter Sherman Cahoon Sr., who survives. Mrs. Cahoon was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cahoon is survived by three children: Tina Jones, Dennis Cahoon and Sherman Cahoon Jr, three brothers: C.J. Thigpen, Bobby Ray Thigpen and Harold Lee Dunn, one sister: Lois Thigpen Pond, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cahoon was preceded in death by a daughter: Donna Marback, two brothers: Guy Milton Thigpen and Robert Justin Thigpen and a sister: Nellie Jean Thigpen Harris.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 19, 2010 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
