Ann King Saxe, 80 of Washington, N.C. formerly of New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010.
Ann was born March 14, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Richard and Norma Smith. She was a retired New York Real Estate broker with the distinction of being, at the time of licensing, the youngest broker in New York.
Ann was an ardent sailor having sailed up and down the Atlantic seaboard from The Magdalene Islands to the Florida Keys as well as having sailed across the Atlantic and in the Mediterranean as part of a husband wife team. She was always happy when aboard a boat.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fabyan; and sons Eugene, Fabyan, David and Thomas as well as her caring daughters-in law Jan, Nora and Sarah. Her grandchildren, Fabyan, Taylor, Katie, Danny, Kelsie, Elizabeth and Tyler will all miss her as she was an integral part of their lives. She also leaves her loving brothers, Richard, David and Gary Smith; and sister, Bernadette DeVault. Ann was predeceased by her brother Robert Smith and sister Sally Morris.
A celebration of life will be on March 13, 2010 in Washington, N.C. Donations in her name may be made to Zion Episcopal Church, 7302 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, NC 27889.
