Raiders get swept by Ridgecroft|Van Staalduinen has career-high for Knights

Despite some solid shooting out of Joseph Braddy and Allison Armstrong, the Pungo Raiders were swept by Ridgecroft in Thursday’s Tarheel Independent Conference varsity basketball games.
Braddy had 19 points, but the Raiders (6-9) fell 61-51 to Ridgecroft. Christopher Armstrong added 10 points, Zack Credle 9, Tyler Mann 6 and Austin Vann 4.
Allison Armstrong paced Pungo (8-12) with 10 points in a 45-22 setback to Ridgecroft. Tess Smithwick added 6 points, Melanie Harris 4 and Jordan Dunbar 2.
The junior varsity boys fell 41-29.
Pungo’s junior varsity girls picked up a 42-15 victory.
Terra Ceia girls win
Kelsey Van Staalduinen poured in a career-high 16 points to lead the Terra Ceia Knights to a victory over Calvary Baptist on Thursday night.
Van Staalduinen also ripped down eight rebounds.
Hollie McDonald added 11 points and Katie Jackson 10 for the Knights (5-13).
Terra Ceia returns to action Monday against Bethel.
