Mr. Donza Foy Mason, age 75, a resident of 6283 North Boyd Road, Pinetown, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church, Highway 32 North, Washington, conducted by Pastor Justin Marker and Pastor Tom Lilly. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
Active pallbearers will be George Phillips, Jr., Galin Ambrose, Michael Snyder, Irving Mason, B. J. Jackson, Jr. and Ted Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Sullivan, Durwood Dixon, Mac Wallace, and Earl Sheppard.
Mr. Mason was born in Beaufort County on November 26, 1934. He was the son of the late Andrew Shanklin Mason and Fannie Laura Tuten Mason. Mr. Mason was a craftsman welder at Texasgulf for 31 1/2 years. He was a member of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church and a Mason of Orr Lodge #104.
On September 21, 1957, Mr. Mason married the former Sue Boyd, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Donna Mason Jackson and husband, Billy Joe Jackson, Sr. of Washington, Tammy Sue Mason of Washington; a sister, Judy Snyder of Blounts Creek; three brothers, David Wayne Mason of Bath, Carlton Lee Mason of Blounts Creek, Kenneth Ray Mason of Plymouth; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m.until 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church, Hwy 32 North, Washington.
