Jack “Buddha” Lavene Jones, age 35, a resident of 187 Pirate Cove Road, Washington, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mr. Jones was born in LaGrange, GA on November 29, 1974 to the late Rolin Jones and Amelia MacNab Jones who survives. “Buddha” was a 1993 graduate of Washington High School where he played in the band. He especially loved jazz and classical music. “Buddha” enjoyed spending time with his family and collecting Coke and Nascar memorabilia. He was a cook at Down on Main Street until health problems prevented him from working.
In addition to his mother he is survived by two sisters, Jennifer Alligood and her significant other Wesley and Elizabeth “Beth” Smith and husband Jimmy all of Washington, his paternal grandmother, Betty Jones of Americus, GA, his maternal grandmother, Ruth MacNab of Moultrie, GA, his niece, Brittany Alligood, four nephews, Michael Paul Jones, Trey Campbell, Christopher Smith and Matthew Smith, and several aunts and uncles and his dog Miss Brassy.
He was preceded in death by his faithful companion Chloe.
